Before your first class:

Attend Orientation: Orientation days are held once or twice per week and are short, 1-2 hour sessions. During this time students are given their book, gait belt, and all necessary supplies, and will review the student handbook. This is also a great opportunity to ask questions before class begins!

Students are required to provide a negative TB reading dated within 12 months, or negative chest x-ray on their first day of class. Once you are approved for the program, you will be required to provide a copy of the results on your first day of class. There are several places students may go to receive a TB test for a small fee ($10-$20), call our office for locations in Manchester, Nashua, Somersworth and Dover. You may also go to your Primary Care Physician.

An all white uniform is required for your class including the first day of class. You may purchase these at any uniform store. Wal-mart also has white scrubs available.

You will want to bring a pen, notebook, highlighter, and a watch with a second hand to class. Your book and other supplies will be provided to you at orientation. You may also want to bring a bag lunch. There will be a refrigerator and microwave available to use.

Thank you for your interest in our nursing program - designed with quality in mind.

The Application Process

We require interested persons to submit four things to our program for consideration of admission:

1. An application

2. A pre-screening test

3. A criminal history inquiry form

4. A $35 non-refundable application fee

We require a pre-screening test to measure basic reading comprehension and math skills. You may fill out the application and pre-test on-line then go to our credit card payment page and select your choice of payment. If you do not have this option then print the pfd file and send it to us, along with a $35.00 non-refundable check or money order for the processing fee. (Please note, the application fee is for processing your application, it does not reserve your space in class).

Along with the application and pre-test, we also require all applicants to read, understand, sign and submit a criminal history inquiry form. Applicants applying online must print the criminal record disclaimer form and either mail or fax the signed form to our office.

Applicants with English as a second language will be asked to schedule an English Comprehension Evaluation upon receipt of their application, pre-test, criminal history inquiry form and application fee. This is a tool used soley to determine the level of english comprehension before gaining admittance into the program. We want all of our students to be successful.

Acceptance into the program is based upon completion and receipt of the following:

1. Completed application

2. Passing score of 70% or greater on the pre-entrance exam

3. The signed criminal history inquiry form with the indication that the applicant has not been convicted of one or more of the felony crimes the New Hampshire Board of Nursing considers a permanent bar to licensure

4. The $35 non-refundable application fee

The total cost of the program is *$1380 which includes your book, tuition, and application fee. Your State Exam is **Free! You also get same day test results.

The following payment options may be available to you: credit card (MC/Visa/Disc) money order, cash, or personal check. We also offer a payment plan. Call to speak with a representative from LNA Health Careers to discuss payment options, or visit our tuition page. Please note that spaces are limited and are on a first come first served basis.

The following programs offer financial assistance to those that qualify: Workforce Opportunity Council (www.nscite.org), NH Employment Program, and NH Works. Call us for information on how to pursue these options.

We also work with SLM Financial, a company that issues student loans. You may fill out an application with SLM Financial online, by clicking here, or call our office for assistance. These methods can take several weeks, so you should start the process as soon as possible.
